New HUGE EP on its way out on Stroboscopic Artefacts.
With SA012 Dadub carefully collate legacies of philosophical thought and transpose them into a brilliantly deep EP. The vinyl opens with ‘Perseverance’ a slick slice of bass that writhes and twists around a syncopated core. On A2 ‘Temptation Of Maya’ seizes at the act of perception and what is captured is perfect for the mellow confusion of a Sunday morning. On the flip side the search for transcendence goes further with ‘Beyond the Veil’ which crackles towards a sense of enlightenment. The EP closes with a golden moment of contentment, ‘Moksha’. The track titles hint at the search for revelation, which is rendered in countless experimental layers and finely wrought details. SA012 is a peek into the conceptual framework that Dadub engage with to create their vision. And just as their central image, Maya, is intangible in the perceptible universe, the tracks seem to erupt from an equally mystical place: molten, dark and fathomlessly deep.
SA012 was craftily mastered by Artefacts Mastering, Berlin.

Shawn O’Sullivan – Free Flight
For it is a Techno ritual: the soft cloth of synthetic tones gliding between the monolithic pillars of throbbing bass and their gargoyles of snare. The mere playing of its file, a portal to the half-remembered temples of bass. This is cavernous dance music that requires a concerted level of spiritual submission that would put various theisms to shame.
Shawn O’Sullivan (of Led er Est fame) is responsible for this slice of salvation. Coming very soon on WT Records.
Truly magnificent techno featured on 20JFG.

Domo Genesis - Stray Bullets
The Odd Future member Domo Genesis has a new jam called “Stray Bullets”. If there is one thing we love about hip-hop in general, it’s those jazzy oldschool beats and a chilled out delivery combined with lyrics that don’t include the word “faggot” or “bitch” and themes such as gang rape. This jam reminds us of tracks such as “Souls Of Mischief - 93 Till Infinity” and “A Tribe Called Quest - Electric Relaxation”. Keep it coming Domo!
In other news, there are two more new Odd Future tracks stream them here:
+ Mellowhigh feat. Juicy J - Lift
+ Hodgy Beats - BKLYN
Quality!
Machinedrum - No Respect
January is off to a great start. Does the term “banger” still get used when describing electronic music. This is more of a rolling banger I think.
‘Ere we go. #6 all up in here.
- Drexciya - Journey of the deep sea dweller I: Electro of course.
- Para One - Mother EP: Hmm, whatcha call it? Upbeats.
- Byetone - SyMeta: Techno on Raster-Noton.
- Raime - Hennail: Druggy and experimental.
A slightly shorter list this time. Let’s cross our fingers for a superb 2012.
Yup, yup - the year hasn’t come to an end yet. However my spotify playlist collecting the best songs from 2011 is near completion. Sadly spotify’s catalogue is lacking some heavy hitting stuff (Kuedo - severant, machinedrum - room(s), autonomic stuff). Consider this a “best of 2011 available on Spotify”.
A warning might be in order. This list covers many genres, some which I rarely cover here. There’s some indie, hip hop, r&b(!) in addition to the regular Vorce servings of future garage, techno, IDM, electro, house, dubstep, experimental shit.
Enjoy!
